Welcome Cycling Enthusiasts!

The Roanoke Cycling Organization is the newly formed cycling group based out of Roanoke, Virginia representing those who have a passion for the sport of cycling.

The RCO focuses on racing, riding, training, education and event promotion. Our philosophy attracts those with a passion for the sport, who understand the impact of cyclists behavior on and off the road, who seek continuing education from bike handling to maintenance techniques, and wish to get involved in bicycle racing and promotion.

The RCO is also the home for a pro/amateur cycling team, RoanokeOutside.com / Mail-It Plus focusing on both on and off road disciplines. Our spotlight event is the ID3 and the RMBC races, both road and mountain bike races which are also Commonwealth Games qualifier.

ROANOKE CITY MTB RACES

Take a day and ride the beautiful back roads between Wintergreen Resort and Harrisonburg Virginia to celebrate the life of Dr Joseph Mirenda and his love of cycling.

The inaugural DR100, a Metric Century & � Century Charity ride & 5K run will be held on September 18, 2010

This event is in memoriam of Dr. Joseph Mirenda who was struck and killed on a bike just 5 miles south of JMU on August 2009. All proceeds of this perennial event will go to set up a JMU scholarship for students experiencing a chronic event. www.dr100.org
