The Roanoke Cycling Organization is now in it's second year. For 2005, my goal was to prove that the RCO is a viable group to the cycling community and we have succeeded with the promotion of the Commonwealth Games, the Classic Wednesday Night Ride, the Thursday Explore Park Night Ride and podium finishes with racers of Team El Toreo.
From day one, I decided that supporting the RCO would be a positive experience and not focused around costs. However, as any group striving to prosper, the RCO needs monetary support.
The RCO is seeking support from you, the cycling enthusiast. How?
First of all, we are not a bike club, instead, we are a promoting machine that seeks support - support from those who wish to see the RCO bring to life
successful cycling events, educate riders, lead rides and manage a race
team in the Roanoke Valley.
There
are basically two groups, Supporters and
Sponsors. Supporters are cyclists and non-cyclists who wish to support the purpose of the RCO. Supporters are granted membership privileges such as member only website
access, online profiles (blog), personal email account,
discounts on RCO gear, member only functions, supporter specific communications and information.
All of this for a minimum of $10.00/year per
individual, of course, more is always
appreciated and will increase our efforts.
A Sponsor is an individual or business which makes a contribution for a RCO event, as a race team sponsor or as an overall RCO sponsor for the organization. A Sponsor receives the same benefits as an individual Supporter, plus advertising at events, on the RCO website, and/or on the team jersey.
Please email me if you own a business, or
know of a contact who would have interest
in supporting the RCO.
You can compare this to any other non-profit organizations or member supporting groups, such as a foundation or even public radio - you give money because you support their cause
or purpose.
So,
support the RCO for $10 and become part of
our cycling family to make the Roanoke
Valley a haven for cyclists! On
